My name is Coy Flynn and I'm a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist whose love and expertise is in helping athletes reach their peak performance potential by teaching them to move more efficiently, enhance their strength and power, & stay healthy inside and outside of their sport. Since becoming a professional in the industry, I have been blessed to work with so many amazing human beings. You could be next! The clientele I work with ranges from all-pro athletes at the highest of professional levels, to amateur high school and collegiate athletes, to the weekend warriors still living the dream, and every step in between.
As a graduate from the great Michigan State University receiving a Master's of Science Degree with a focus in Kinesiology, I aspire to be a lifelong learner, educator, and mentor to those I'm blessed to work with.
My overall training philosophy is built from the three commandment pillars below, and is centered around knowing the "why" behind doing what we do. I believe in taking a scientific based approach to help passionate individuals, like you, work towards achieving their goals. 3 pillars:
Train the Athlete:
Every athlete’s sport and position has specific physiological and psychological demands, meaning all athletes have different needs that they must met in their training to maximize their performance potential (physically & mentally) and decrease their risk of potential injury.
Coach the Individual:
As professionals and humans, we know that no two people are exactly alike. The same applies to athletes, no matter if they play the same sport or even the same position. Everyone is their own individual and should be coached as such. What works for athlete A may not work for athlete B and vice versa. The ability to recognize these differences and adapt to them is important to effectively coach each individual.
Lead the Person:
Aside from team success, everyone has their own reasons for wanting to succeed. Those reasons inspire everyone to work towards achieving their dreams. Lead each person to their dreams through learning about what inspires them. Because how can we truly look to help others if we cannot learn about each other.
Training programs should consider all these important factors, and be catered around each client's individual needs. This is where Train Coach Lead programming comes in. My methods are always evolving, staying up to date on the current field research and literature (not the current IG or TikTok trend), to ensure we stay consistent in improving, never getting stuck in a rut doing the same thing over and over again.
